Collaborative Partnerships Focused on Solving Workforce Problems

Job Growers Partners

Job Growers Incorporated collaborates with public and private entities to identify and plan for business and industry expansion and growth. By means of these collaborative partnerships, Job Growers leads businesses to connect around common issues and solutions to their workforce problems. With this assistance, businesses can remain competitive in a global economy. They also can provide the residents of Marion, Polk and Yamhill counties with good jobs.

The Strategic Economic Development Corporation (SEDCOR), the McMinnville Economic Development Partnership (MEDP), and Business Oregon (the state economic development agency) are important partners. They assist Job Growers with connecting the local businesses to resources for their training needs, and to skilled job applicants. Because of this kind of successful collaboration and partnership, Garmin AT Inc. recently was able to expand their Salem operations, and add 200 jobs. Job Growers and its partners were able to assist with recruitment and initial training of successful applicants.

Job Growers Incorporated and the Oregon Employment Department (OED) form a partnership to provide staff in the Salem, Woodburn, Dallas and McMinnville WorkSource Oregon Centers. Job Growers and OED staff work together in an integrated model of delivering important services to job seekers, including skills assessment, training, and assistance with job search. Other partners working together in the integrated model include Vocational Rehabilitation, Veterans Affairs, and Easter Seals (helping older job seekers).

Chemeketa Community College is a Job Growers Incorporated partner integral to nearly all job training and business improvement projects and programs undertaken in the local area. The College’s expertise and extensive resources in the many certificate and associate’s degree programs offered are invaluable to Job Growers and economic development as all collaborate to solve workforce problems.

Many other community and business partners have collaborated with Job Growers Incorporated to plan and apply for special funding, to implement funded programs, and to continue the ongoing work of producing a skilled workforce to help local businesses grow and produce a vital and vibrant community.
